The head of the driver:
The top of the driver is made of seven layers of carbon composite to minimize the weight of the driver head. According to http://zoltek.com/carbonfiber/how-is-it-made/ 'roughly 90% of the carbon fibres produced are made from polyacrylonitrile (PAN). The other 10 % is rayon or petroleum pitch'. Also carbon fibre is smaller in width then a strand of hair so it is very light. Then the weights are very light. Only weighing 10-15 grams.
The shaft of the driver:
Then there are three types of shafts. they are:
1) high launch - fujikura pro 60
2) mid launch - Mitsubishi KuraKage Tini Silver 60
3) low launch -Aldila Rogue Silver 70
These are three different shaft options, however they all are very light as they are made from mostly graphite.
So Taylormade have used a lot of engineering and science to make the M1 (2016) driver. I would highly recommend this as a golfers number one driver.
